UniverCity, SFU's new residential community, is beginning to take shape on the northeast side of Burnaby Mountain where roadbuilding and construction crews have been working for the past 10 months.

Two of the three developers involved in phase one of the community - Millennium University Homes Ltd. and Intergulf Development Group - will begin pre-sale marketing later this summer and fall. The third developer, Polygon Homes Ltd., will also be taking reservations.

Phase one includes 450 condominium units in low-rise wood frame and mid-rise, concrete buildings and 115-rental units to be developed above new stores and offices in the Cornerstone building along University High Street.

Michael Geller, (above) president of the SFU Community Trust, says construction will also begin on the new Town and Gown square, located just east of the school for the contemporary arts building.

B-lot parking spaces lost during construction will be replaced in a new parking area to be developed just west of the East Academic Annex. For more information check, UniverCity or call 604-291-3220.
