Putting arts degree to work

Their careers run the gamut from immigration enforcement officer to public relations professional, project manager, writer, choreographer and entrepreneur. Their undergraduate degrees range from economics to criminology, psychology, English, communications and interdisciplinary studies. They're all SFU arts alumni and they'll all be on campus Feb. 16 for ArtsWork 2002, a day-long conference designed to help SFU arts undergrads and recent grads discover how they can put an arts degree to work. The event is sponsored by the SFU health and career counselling centre , the Alumni association, the faculty of arts, and the arts co-op program. Marketing and outreach coordinator Liesl Jurock says more than 100 students attended the conference last year. This year, she hopes as many as 150 will pay $10 for a ticket.
