NEW FACULTY

Nancy Forde
Nancy Forde has accepted a tenure track position as assistant professor in the department of physics. Forde, who holds a PhD in physical chemistry from the University of Chicago, has spent the past five years as a post-doctoral researcher in physics and molecular and cell biology at the University of California, Berkeley.

Olena Hankivisky
Olena Hankivisky has been appointed a tenure track associate professor in the department of political science. She was most recently a senior grant facilitator at SFU and an adjunct professor in the political science department. She holds a master of arts and a PhD in political science from the University of Western Ontario. Her research focuses on women's health and health policies in Canada.

James Kuo
James Kuo joins the school of engineering science as a professor with tenure in the field of microelectronics. Kuo comes to SFU from National Taiwan University. He holds a PhD in electrical engineering from Stanford University.

Robert Kitsos
Robert Kitsos is a new tenure track assistant professor with the school for the contemporary arts, where he will teach dance. He holds a master of fine arts in dance from the University of Washington and was most recently a senior lecturer in modern dance at the Hong Kong Academy for the Performing Arts.

Jie Liang
Jie Liang is a new tenure track assistant professor in the school of engineering science. He recently received his PhD in electrical engineering from Johns Hopkins University. His research interests focus on digital signal processing, multimedia engineering, image and video processing and digital communications.

Jing Li
Jing Li joins the faculty of business administration as a tenure track assistant professor. Li comes to SFU from Indiana University where she was a doctoral student at the Kelley school of business and recently earned her PhD. Her research interests include strategic alliance, mergers and acquisitions and strategies of multinational enterprises.

Jo (Jennifer) Ressler
Jo (Jennifer) Ressler joins the chemistry department as a tenure track assistant professor in nuclear chemistry. She holds a PhD from the University of Maryland and was most recently a postdoctoral research associate at Yale University.

Karen Ruckman
Karen Ruckman is a new tenure track assistant professor in the faculty of business administration. She joins SFU from Concordia University where she was also an assistant professor. She earned her PhD at UBC and specializes in international business.

Nilesh Saraf
Nilesh Saraf joins the faculty of business administration as a tenure track assistant professor. Most recently an assistant professor at Florida Atlantic University, Saraf holds a PhD in information systems from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, a MBA from the Indian Institute of Management in Lucknow, India and a bachelor of engineering from Maharaja Sayajirao University in India.

Janet Sturgeon
Janet Sturgeon takea up a position as a tenure track assistant professor in the department of geography. She holds a PhD in geography from Yale University and was most recently an East Asia postdoctoral fellow in global environment at the Watson Institute for International Studies at Brown University in the U.S.
