Students strike blow for equality
Regarding Sue Digney's recollections of an elevator being reserved for faculty members only (SFU News, Jan.12), all elevators in the first portion of the academic quadrangle to be completed initially (i.e. at the beginning of the first semester) operated only after a key had been inserted into a keyhole on the control panel. Faculty members were issued with keys.

Students within a day or two struck a blow for equality by one or more individuals pouring liquid lead, normally used to plug car radiator leaks, into the keyholes, causing everyone to use the stairs.
