Sea lice story lacks objectivity
In the Jan. 27 edition of SFU News you had an article titled Scientists seek fund for sea lice research. I am writing to make two points.

There is funding available for sea lice research from a variety of sources. For example, the British Columbia aquaculture research and development committee through its aquaculture and environment fund, established by the province, has funded eight projects and has just issued a further request for proposal. At least one SFU researcher has accessed these funds as have scientists from several other universities.

We agree that further research on sea lice is warranted. What disappoints in the article is its sensationalism, apparent lack of objectivity and evident bias.
