SFU's first president's report web site, launched in mid-February, is garnering worldwide attention.

In its first month on-line, more than 3,000 visitors spent an average four to five minutes on about 20,000 page views.

More than 80 per cent of the visitors were external to SFU, with 32 per cent of those from outside of the Pacific time zone. International hits included visitors from the U.S., Germany, Hong Kong, United Arab Emirates, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Malaysia, Indonesia, France, U.K., Austria, Brazil, Taiwan, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand and Japan.

The number of daily visitors hit 500 on the first day of the launch and held at between 200 and 250 for the first eight days.

These numbers coincide with an advertising campaign in the Globe and Mail and Vancouver Sun. As well, the front page of the report appeared in every one of the five rotating windows on the SFU home page in the first week of the report's launch.

Anecdotally, visitors say they find the site is bold, stylish and classy, as well as easy to navigate. The print version of the report is garnering similar feedback for its unique design.
