Calling him the “perfect fit” for its most coveted award, Ernst & Young has named SFU Chancellor Milton Wong the recipient of the 2002 Entrepreneur Of The Year (EOY) Lifetime Achievement Award.

Ernst & Young presents the award based on business achievements exemplifying entrepreneurship in Canada.

The founder of M.K. Wong & Associates Ltd. in 1980, Wong is chair of HSBC Asset Management Canada. HSBC acquired Wong's company in 1996.

Wong is a supporter of several charitable and social causes, using his business acumen to help new companies develop cancer fighting technologies.

Wong is currently deputy chair of the Millennium Capital Campaign for the B.C. Cancer Foundation.

He also helped establish several high profile institutions around Vancouver, including Science World and the Canadian International Dragon Boat Festival.
