SFU's 40th Anniverary Posters

The Archives was proud to mark SFU's 40th anniversary in 2005 with a series of exhibits that celebrate the university's history. "Movers and Makers: How the 'instant university' came to be", which depicts SFU's whirlwind beginnings from planning to reality in only 30 months; and "Protests and Policies: How sixties turbulence helped to shape SFU". They alternate semi-annually on display in the lower level atrium of the Maggie Benston Student Centre.

The corridor leading to the Archives is home to five exhibits that focus on SFU's:

Each exhibit weaves a series of stories enriched with archival photographs and records that will engage and draw viewers into SFU's dynamic history.

Portable versions of the displays on atheltics, arts, the women's movement, protest in 1967, and growth off Burnaby Mountain are available for loan for campus anniversary events, meetings or reunions.
