Series comprises records received by Financial Assistance from the federal and provincial governments as notification of student loan applications, awards and appeals by SFU students.
Records consist of University copies of student loan forms and correspondence notifying the University of appeals of Ministry decisions.
The records are arranged by document type by semester, either in the order received (forms) or alphabetically by the student appealing a decision (correspondence).
These loans are not adjudicated by the University. Transactions are increasingly conducted electronically and in many cases the University no longer receives a paper record, as the information is downloaded electronically from the Ministry's computers and stored in the University's student records database (SIMON).
