Capital and operating budgets, budget transfers and adjustments, payroll reports, faculty and staff lists and correspondence, draft policies, procedures and reports.
These records were created by Roland Olund as Assistant to successive Vice-Presidents Academic from 1970-1995 and document his responsibility for assessing and administering capital and operating budgets; developing procedures for the evaluation and renewal of appointments, promotion, and leave; developing, implementing and interpreting policies relevant to employment and pay matters; and preparing reports on these areas for the Vice President, Academic. Roland Olund never actually occupied a position described as "Director, Academic Budgets", but performed all his work as Assistant to the Vice President, Academic. During Alison Watt's tenure as a second assistant to the Vice President, Academic, ca 1979-88, responsibility for personnel budgets was divided, Watt handling academic salary budgets, while Olund handled non-academic salaries.
Some material documents Rolund Olund's work for the Administrative and Professional Staff Association as a member of various committees, including the executive committee, as well as the VP Academic's official dealings with APSA.
Budgetary records are grouped by date, but no systematic arrangement is evident. Note, however, that various folders bear alphanumeric filing labels. Comparison with previously acquired VP Academic Office files shows that they probably represent elements of the same original office sequence.erally distributed materials, rough notes and working papers.
