This RRSDA covers original or first copy theses, extended essays and projects from 1967-2013 received by the Archives and Records Management Department as part of the thesis submission guidelines for Graduate Studies. It also covers audio and visual material submitted as part of the theses, extended essays or projects such as interviews and video recordings.
Bound theses, extended essays and projects include the signed and dated Approval Page and Non-Exclusive Copyright License. They may also include an Ethics Approval page, Copyright Permissions page, Postponement Approval page, and a signed and dated Supervisor Revision Memo.
The SFU Library maintains circulation copies in paper and digital formats that omit the signed and dated Approval Page. The SFU Library circulation copies are not covered by this RRSDA.
As the only complete set of theses, extended essays and projects from 1967-2013 that preserve the signed and dated Approval Page, the Archives' copy is part of the official graduate student record.
As of 2013, all theses, extended essays and projects are submitted electronically and stored in the SFU Research Data Repository (Radar). The SFU Library is the Office of Primary Responsibility for the graduate data stored in Radar. Radar is not covered by this RRSDA.
