Sommet sur le rapprochement des francophonies canadiennes

The Sommet sur le rapprochement des francophonies canadiennes and the Office of francophone and francophiles affairs

Taking place from June 12 to 17, 2021, the Sommet sur le rapprochement des francophonies canadiennes is the result of a joint desire by the Government of Quebec and the Fédération des communautés francophones et acadienne du Canada (FCFA) to mark a new era in the relationship between Quebec and the Canadian Francophonies. It will also be the culmination of the Quebec government's approach to renewing the Quebec Policy on the Canadian Francophonie.

As part of this event, OFFA will be co-presenting a pre-event workshop on May 26. Gino Leblanc, OFFA's Director will also be taking part in the opening panel on June 12.

Workshop - La politique du Québec en matière de francophonie canadienne : hier, aujourd’hui et demain

May 26, 2021 - From 10:00 to 11:30 am (PDT)

In recent months, Quebec's government has announced that it will continue to reach out to Francophone communities across the country and that it will review its policy on the Canadian Francophonie. These actions are important because they call upon all the actors of the Canadian Francophonie and invite us to continue our discussions in about the future. To better reflect on what this new policy could be, it is useful to understand the evolution of relations between Quebec and the Canadian Francophonie.

As part of the partner programming, the Office of Francophone and Francophile Affairs (OFFA), in collaboration with Les Offices jeunesse internationaux du Québec (LOJIQ), is thrilled to present a workshop about Quebec's policies regarding the Canadian Francophonie. People from Quebec and British Columbia are invited to take part in this event. The activity will be held in French.
