The Faculty of Environment is pleased to offer the first new degree at Simon Fraser University in 22 years!

The first degree introduced at SFU since 1992, the BEnv is recognition that the environmental challenges of today demand an interdisciplinary approach to developing solutions. Through integration of the biophysical and social sciences, and an understanding of complexity and systems thinking, students are provided with the knowledge and skills to identify and understand environmental challenges and to contribute to solutions. This four year degree offers students specialization in one of three programs.

The Bachelor of Environment provides students with a core foundation in earth systems, ecology, biology, the human role in nature, the social and built environments, environmental stewardship and governance and the global scale.

In January, we changed the name of the Environmental Resource Management major to the Resource and Environmental Management major to more closely align it with its administrative home, the School of Resource and Environmental Management. No other changes were made.
