About the Entomological Society of British Columbia

The Entomological Society of British Columbia (ESBC) is a registered scientific society for the advancement of entomological knowledge in the province of British Columbia. Founded in 1902 (incorporated and by-laws drafted in 1923), the Society has a long and interesting history
The Society caters to professional entomologists, amateurs, and educators. Membership is open to all with an interest in entomology, and our current members are located throughout BC, North America, and the world.  Publications of the ESBC include a biannual newsletter, an annual peer-reviewed scientific journal and occasional papers. Subscriptions to the journal are available to individuals as well as institutions, and the ESBC enjoys an extensive network of exchange partners who receive our journal in exchange for a publication of their own.
ESBC holds an annual meeting , usually in October.  The meeting is open to the public, and anyone who is interested is encouraged to attend.  Our executive committee meets twice a year.
