An article about insect declines in the December 2015 wildlife issue of Canadian Geographic relies heavily on quotes from Elizabeth Elle, including for the title:  We know that insect species are being lost across the planet....but no one is really looking".  The article also features an interview with former grad student Christy Morrissey, who observes "if we don't have insects, then we actually don't have bitds.  It's as simple as that."  Author Lesley Anthony and illustrator Charlene Chua nicely capture the often overlooked problem of losing our "minifauna", especially since the wildlife featured on the cover is (what else?) a polar bear!

We can't post the article online due to copyright issues but Elizabeth has a copy on the bulletin board outside her office.
