The initial offering of SING Canada 2018 was hosted by Faculty of Science and Faculty of Health Sciences on the Burnaby campus of SFU July 29 to August 4, 2018, with funding from Biological Sciences.  The local organizing committee consisted of Jamie Scott of MBB and FHS, Marcia Guno Director of Indigenous Student Centre, and Felix Breden.  SING stands for Summer Internship for Indigenous Peoples in Genomics, and the goal is to build capacity among Inidigenous students and community members in genetics and genomics.  In the future SING Canada will be hosted by other Canadian universities, and we hope to bring it back to SFU soon.
