"SFU Researchers Discover Potential Way to Manage Insects Without Chemicals"

A team of researchers from Gerhard Gries's lab led by Adam Blake have made a key discovery about how insects choose which plants to feed and lay eggs on. 

In a new study published earlier this month in the Proceedings of the Royal Society B, they reveal how insects use polarized light reflected from leaves to make these choices. This information could lead to alternative pest control strategies, helping to reduce insecticide use and insect declines.
