Research Interests

Academic Background

My main research interests are broadly in behavioural and population ecology with particular emphasis on the responses of individuals to changing environmental conditions and the proximate factors influencing these responses. I am particularly interested in growth, reproductive performance and senescence, and associated life history trade-offs, plus conservation and climate-change. I had already done several related projects examining the short- or long-term consequences of conditions in early life and effects of habitat and nest-site selection on reproductive biology. In particular I had done how various tradeoffs affect evolutionary adaptation and the behavioural decisions involved in foraging and environmental adaptation. Recent work has focused resource allocation and developmental trade-offs. I am examining effects of maternal condition, paternal morph, and social stress on primary sex ratio as my Postdoctoral projects in Simon Fraser University, BC. My research has utilized the study of physiology and behaviour to gain insight into the biology of fishes at both the basic and applied levels.
