Technology advances in non-invasive human brain mapping continue to push the limits in terms of tracking functional activity in time and space. In this respect, the convergence across multiple modalities is critical, with particular emphasis on high-field MRI and high-density MEG. We have recently opened the SFU ImageTech Lab embedded within Surrey Memorial Hospital, which hosts both state-of-the-art MRI and MEG instruments. This talk will provide an overview of the technologies along with basic science examples of how MRI and MEG can localize and track functional activation across complex distributed neural systems.
