Marine science courses are offered on Vancouver Island's Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre in summer and fall.

Semesters use a four-digit code:

The first digit stands for the century - i.e. it is currently 1 for the 21st century.

The second two digits are for the year - i.e. 07 for 2007, 08 for 2008, etc.

The last digit is for the semester: Spring is 1, Summer is 4 and Fall is 7.
