Kinesiology Games Conference

Invitation from Leandra Ramsay, 4th year BPK Active Health & Rehabilitation program student, and Team Captain, Kin Games SFU:

SFU’s BPK Department is invited to attend the Kinesiology Games Conference, the largest national student-run kinesiology conference in Canada, bringing together undergraduate kinesiology and human kinetics students at one host University.

The 2014 Kin Games will be held from March 20th to 22nd at McMaster University in Hamilton Ontario.  The goal is to have 42 schools with over 1000 students participating.

The Kin Games began in 2001 and is held mid-March annually.  Each school is represented by a team of approximately 24 students to compete in sport and academic competitions against other universities.  In 2013 the Kin Games took place at the University of Calgary with 31 university teams and over 750 undergraduate student participants.  Participating schools included the University of British Columbia, University of Western Ontario, Queen’s University, and Douglas College.

For the first time this year the Kin Games will also host an Academic Career Fair. Participants will include students, professors, and kinesiology professionals from all over Canada.  This will be a networking opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students, who will hear professors and graduate students talk about their kinesiology research and experience. This will also be a great opportunity for SFU's Biomedical Physiology & Kinesiology program to engage with other schools at a national level.  Further, the potential to bring the Kin Games to SFU in the near future will allow students nationwide to explore our campus and programs.

A very passionate group of SFU students is determined to attend the 2014 Kin Games.  You can help make this happen by participating in this event.
