New President and CEO of MSFHR

Dr. Diane Finegood has been appointed the new President and CEO of MSFHR

Biomedical Physiology and Kinesiology Professor Dr. Diane Finegood has been appointed the new President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research (MSFHR).

Diane leads the Chronic Disease Systems Modeling Lab at SFU. Her appointment at MSFHR is the latest in a long history of successful roles in health research leadership, including being the inaugural Scientific Director of CIHR's Institute of Nutrition, Metabolism and Diabetes – in this role she was a major shaper of diabetes research in Canada. She is currently Executive Director of the CAPTURE Project, a national project to inform chronic disease prevention. Diane has also won many awards, including the Frederick G Banting Award for leadership on diabetes, and Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women Award (in the category of Trailblazers and Trendsetters).
