Question:
I'm also working towards a Biology Minor. May I use any of the kinesiology credits towards that minor?
You will find that several department programs require the same lower level courses, therefore, it is possible that a course (e.g. BISC 101) will satisfy the requirements for both a Kinesiology Major and Biology Minor. However, the same upper division courses may not be used for formal credit in both the major and the minor; except to fulfill general elective requirements. Please see the program advisor if you are uncertain about this requirement.
Question:
Should I check with an advisor as I get close to graduation? If so, when should I see an advisor?
Yes, definitely. If you expect to be graduating in the next 2-3 semesters, it is strongly recommended that you meet with an advisor to review graduation requirements. Several students who failed to meet graduation requirements in spring and summer wished they had heeded this advice! This must be done in person. Please bring your advising transcript when you come for this check. Students must remember that ultimately they are held responsible for knowing regulations and the requirements for their own program.
