When can I declare my Major?
If you were admitted directly to Kinesiology from high school, you do not need to declare your major. For students completing an internal transfer into the program, the deadline for submission of your application is the end of the first week of class at the start of each semester. Applications will be reviewed and students sent an email regarding the status of their application prior to registration for the subsequent semester. All courses for the internal transfer must be completed.
What are the benefits of being an approved major?
Once approved, you will have early access to upper-level kinesiology courses via GoSFU. Also, the semester of approval dictates your graduation requirements, because you are governed by the calendar for the year when you are approved. So, even if the School subsequently makes changes to requirements, you will be exempt from these. Make sure you know which calendar requirements you will need to satisfy.
