Simon Fraser University atop Burnaby Mountain, with majestic ocean and mountain views. The Camps Program has access to 3 gyms, tennis & squash courts, swimming pool & dive tank, archery hill, 400m track and 4 fields. In addition, university classrooms are used for educational camps.

The Surrey camps take place at our Surrey campus, uniquely situated in a lively, metropolitan environment within walking distance to public transit. It is a 350,000-square-foot architectural masterpiece, which includes multi-purpose teaching spaces and lecture theatres, and specialized science and research labs.

Progams costs and other fees 

What is your refund policy?

If minimum registration is not reached one week prior to start, we reserve the right to cancel the program and to refund program fees in full.

If the participant needs to withdraw from a program, a full refund (minus a 15% administration fee per program) will be issued for each program cancellation made one or more weeks prior to the program start.

If a participant withdraws from a program with fewer than five business days notice prior to the start date, no refunds will be issued. 

A refund may be considered based on the following:

  1. Receipt of written medical recommendation from a doctor
  2. Receipt of written recommendation from the Course Instructor or administrator giving details of why the program is unsuitable. 
    • If the program has not commenced, a full refund (minus a 15% administration fee per program) will be issued. 
    • If the program has commenced, a pro-rated refund (minus a 15% fee per program) will be issued based on the number of days the participant has attended.

Is it possible to transfer programs? 

We will consider program transfers, depending on course minimum registration. A $5 transfer fee may apply.

Registration

I created an account but the system did not save my profile information. What happened?

Our system will not save your new account until you have completed your first paid transaction. 

I registered and paid for a course but I have not received my receipt or login information?

If you elected to keep your email private, the system will block our communications. If you want to receive receipts and confirmations contact the Recreation Main Office during business hours to have your email unblocked.

In the online registration system, is there a maximum time limit for transactions?

Yes, the system will time out after 30 minutes: any camps added to your account or basket will not be saved. If you are registering for several camps at the same time, we recommend you break up your transactions to ensure you retain your spot in a specific camp. 

I submitted a camp waiver last year. Do I need to submit another one?

Yes, we require a new waiver for our camps each year.

What if I don't have a BC Personal Health number?

You can provide your personal health number from you province/territory. International Campers please ensure you have travel insurance.

Accessibility

Do you offer assistance or options for children with disabilities? 

We are committed to creating an inclusive environment for our campers.  In order to ensure the best experience for children with disabilities, we encourage parents to contact us to collaborate and find a program best suited for your child.

Where resources allow, we would be happy to provide a volunteer who can provide additional assistance, but please keep in mind that these volunteers do not necessarily have any specific training on working with people with disabilities. Our volunteers are mostly high school students who have completed our camp training program and have undergone a Criminal Record check.
