Badminton Camp (8 - 14 years)

A fun introduction to badminton with emphasis on skill development, technical drills, and team building. Campers will engage in mini games and competitions with others of similar skill and ability.

Basketball Boys Camps (5 - 18 years)

SFU Basketball Camps are designed for campers of all ages and skill levels to learn and practice essential basketball fundamentals taught by SFU Varsity Coaches, Athletes, and Alumni. Campers will develop new skills and strong work habits to apply to game situations.

Mini Dribbler

Mini Dribbler Camp is a basketball skills camp in a fun-filled atmosphere. Campers will develop dribbling, passing, and shooting through a "Teaching Games for Understanding" approach.

Run & Gun

Run & Gun Camp covers all aspects of basketball - team, individual, offensive, and defensive skills.  Format includes skill stations, competitions, and games.

Guard

High intensity atmosphere focused on leadership, communication, decision making, passing, timing, shooting, and movement with and without the ball. Campers may watch videos and observe skills to learn the complexities of the point and shooting guard positions. Daily competitions and games will take place.

Campers are expected to bring their own ball.

Shooting

This progressive camp teaches the fundamentals of a great shot. We provide shooting handouts, challenges, competitions, and full court games each day. Campers are asked to bring a cell phone or digital camera later in the week to record and self-analyze their own shot mechanics.

Elite

Elite Camp is a highly intense, competitive camp for players seeking to play at the next level after high school.  Elite Camp will be run by the SFU Men's Basketball staff and will allow campers to see what university practice and training is really like. Campers are typically on a high school or club team.

Basketball Girls Camps (5 - 18 years) 

SFU Basketball Camps are designed for campers to learn and practice essential basketball fundamentals in a positive and enjoyable atmosphere. SFU Coaches and current members of the varsity team emphasize developing new skills, strong work habits and carrying these traits into games. 

Note: Campers may be grouped based on skill and age.

Basketball Girls (6-12 years)

This basketball camp will focus on the fundamentals. We introduce the dribble, pass, shot, and how to work as a team to play offense and defense. Camp will be fun and full of learning games to help build confidence and skill. 

Basketball Girls (9-15 years)

This camp is for basketball players that want to build the fundamentals necessary to become a good basketball player. Campers will learn offensive and defensive skills, and enjoy friendly competitions. 

Basketball Girls Elite (13-18 years)

This camp is ideal for competitive players who would enjoy playing at the university level. Our goal is to provide a window to see and feel what it is like to play at a post-secondary institution. Coach Bruce Langford will run the camp with the help of his staff and team. The camp is meant to push players, with the hope of giving players an understanding of what serious commitment to basketball entails for playing at the next level.

Clan Sports Camp (6 - 10 years)

Treat yourself to this multisport experience! Clan Sports consists of both traditional sports, like basketball & soccer, and fun sports, like dodgeball & kickball. Each week, campers will engage in a variety of sports with others of similar skill and ability.

Field Lacrosse Boys Camps (7-17yrs) Coming 2019

The SFU Field Lacrosse Camps offer an accelerated level of instruction for experienced and developing lacrosse players who want to take their game to the next level. After a challenging day on the field, campers experience campus life as they enjoy a wide range of activities that include swimming, gym games and more.

Camp registration includes accommodation, daily meals, SFU reversible practice jersey and the chance to win SFU Lacrosse apparel/equipment. Coaching staff include current SFU coaching staff/team members and players with US college experience.

Field Lacrosse Girls Camps (13-18yrs) Coming 2019

Field Lacrosse Girls Camps challenges campers to be better players. Skill development & game-situational drills focus on technique, field vision, and team offensive/defensive concepts. Reversible jersey included.

Football Camp (10-17 years)

The SFU Elite Football Camp is designed for high school football players entering Grade 9 to 12 in the Fall of 2018 who are interested in athletic and skill development by the SFU Football staff. The three-hour camp consists of athletic skill work and testing (40 Dash, Broad Jump, Shuttle, etc.) followed by competition periods within your position group. Players will spend the majority of their time working with position coaches to improve their individual technique and skills. The players also have a chance to compete in both 1-on-1 and group settings. 

The SFU Youth Football Camp (10-14yrs) is designed to players to learn and improve their skills in a safe controlled setting! -        cancelled summer 2018

Golf Camps (4 - 18 years)

These camps are being run in partnership with Eaglequest Golf Courses.

Eaglequest Coquitlam Learning Academy is a great place for juniors to learn the game of golf. The facility is suited for teaching, with dedicated teaching areas, a classroom, video system, short game practise area, a 9 hole (par 3) course and a Mini Putt for on-course lessons.

CPGA certified professionals are well trained to work with juniors, keeping the emphasis on fun while learning. Golfers will be grouped by age and skill level.

Lunch fees and club rentals are processed directly through Eaglequest. Please complete the Lunches and Clubs form and provide it directly to Eaglequest for processing.  

Note: Campers must bring the completed Medical Information and Release form to the first day of camp.

Junior Eagles Performance Camp (11-15 years)

The Performance Camp players will be expanding their knowledge of the golf swing and skills through the use of video, FlightScope analysis, and on-course training. Players will be spending time with both our PGA of Canada coaches and our TPI Certified Fitness Specialist acquiring and discussing skills around mental strategy, tactical management, fitness, and nutrition.

The SFU Preseason Experience is designed to replicate an actual NCAA college soccer preseason. Players will receive coaching from the SFU soccer staff and will push to better themselves as footballers. Clan Girls "World Cup" Soccer Camps (5 - 14 years)

These camps include skill development, team building, and matches. SFU Women's Soccer Head Coach organizes and supervises the instruction of each camp. Varsity student-athletes and selected elite alumni round out the high-caliber coaching staff.

Identification Camp (15 - 18 years)

The Clan coaching staff will lead and supervise eight intensive training sessions that will let you experience the training of a NCAA athlete. Enrollment is limited to 30 campers and the fee will include a T-shirt. 

High Performance Camp (12 - 14 years)

You will undergo four intensive training sessions with the Clan coaching staff and varsity players guiding you along the way. Enrollment is limited to 30 campers and the fee will include a T-shirt.

Softball Camp (7 - 17 years) - SUMMER 2019

College Experience & Identification camp - (Girls 14–17 years)

SFU Softball is offering a unique opportunity for aspiring softball players to experience a taste of college softball at our Identification and Experience camp. Campers will interact with SFU coaches and varsity athletes throughout four days of activities that in addition to hours of softball instruction.

Softball Development Clinic (7-14 years)

If you are interested in hosting a clinic in your community, please contact SFU Camps. We can work with you to coordinate your camp, and only need you to have secured the location and have a keen interest within your community.

Tennis Camps (5 - 14 years)

SFU Tennis Camps provide instruction for beginner and intermediate players. Campers will learn the basic fundamentals to serve, rally, play at the net, and to keep score.

As their skill level progresses, it will be recorded with a take-home Awards Card. We are proud to endorse the Tennis Canada ‘Progressive Tennis’ approach, which uses modified tennis balls, nets, and courts to suit the various ages and sizes of the participants. The philosophy lead by Tennis Canada Certified Instructors, will emphasize Fun, Improvement, and Building Positive Relationships.

Camps are held on outdoor tennis courts, and will move indoors for playing and learning on rainy days. Rackets available for purchase if you do not have your own.

Track & Field Camps (7 - 16 years)

These fun camps will offer top quality instruction for the different events in Track & Field including a mini competition. SFU Head Track & Field Coach organizes and supervises the instruction of the assistant coaching staff and high level varsity athletes.

SKILL DEVELOPMENT CAMPS

The camps are broken down into age groups and skill level. Our mission is to create a fun structured environment where players develop their skills and knowledge about the game of volleyball. T-shirt included.

ADVANCED SKILLS HIGH SCHOOL CAMP

The Advanced Skills camp is for high school athletes interested in playing post-secondary volleyball at a college or university. Sessions will be led by the Head SFU Volleyball Coach and staff. Numbers will be limited to ensure quality coach to player ratios and maximum repetitions.

This camp is designed to improve individual skills, which includes some position specific training, as well as the player’s overall understanding of game tactics and strategy. Drills will be both individual and team oriented in nature with situational game play incorporated.

Dorm accommodation including three meals on Saturday and two meals on Sunday is available.

POSITION SPECIFIC SMALL GROUP TRAINING

The Position Specific Training camp is for athletes entering grades 7 - 12 who have established a position on their respective school or club teams.  Sessions will be led by SFU Head Coach, Gina Schmidt, and will focus on improving the techniques specific to each position.

Wrestling Camps (6 - 17 years)

WRESTLING FOR KIDS (6–9 years)

Basic wrestling skills, rules and combative games introduce the sport in a safe and enjoyable atmosphere. This camp helps participants understand the basics of falling, lifting and simple turning and take-down techniques.

WRESTLING - ELITE (9–17 years)

The Elite camp is for youth who want to learn more about technique, wrestling strategies and strength and fitness training. This camp offers a wide range of technical instruction, daily conditioning workouts, video analysis and some live wrestling. Campers will receive world class instruction from National Team coaches and former Olympians. Campers are grouped by age and skill level.
