Basketball (girls)

Considered to be among the best in Canada, these camps are taught by highly-motivated SFU student-athletes who provide excellent instruction and are quality role models for younger players. Courtney Gerwing (current assistant coach and former SFU Women’s basketball player and winner of the Sylvia Sweeney Award in 2009 for excellence in athletics, community service and academics) will lead the camps with the help of current SFU Women’s basketball co-captain Kristina Collins and other members of the Clan.

Basketball Basics (12–15 years)

This camp is designed for young players who want to learn the fundamentals necessary to become a good basketball player. Athletes will get a well rounded schedule of offensive and defensive skills as well as have a chance to compete against each other. Courtney Gerwing (current 
assistant coach and former SFU Women’s basketball player and winner of the Sylvia Sweeney Award in 2009 for excellence in athletics, community service and academics) will lead the camps with the help of current SFU Women’s basketball co-captain Kristina Collins and other members of the Clan. All campers receive a t-shirt and a basketball. 

Skill Development (7-14 years)

General skills camps are open to all abilities, with a focus on skill development and including various drills and scrimmages. Courtney Gerwing (current assistant coach and former SFU Women’s basketball player and winner of the Sylvia Sweeney Award in 2009 for excellence in athletics, community service and academics) will lead the camps with the help of current SFU Women’s basketball co-captain Kristina Collins and other members of the Clan. All campers receive a t-shirt.

Back to School Basics (13-17 years)

This camp is ideal for heading back to school with a sound covering of essential skills. Most players on the SFU team will be working this camp. Players will be divided in skills roughly between those getting ready for junior and those getting ready to play senior basketball. This camp is a great way to have fun and compete while preparing for upcoming basketball seasons.
