How do I add a student to my course?
Students are automatically added to Canvas courses by the system when they register.
In some cases, you may have a student who hasn't been registered yet and who needs to be added to your course before he or she is automatically added by the system. You can add the student as an "observer." Observer status allows students to see the course content; however, they won't be able to send assignments or access their grades.
