Dr. Farhad Daftary is the Director of Academic Research and Publications at London’s prestigious Institute of Ismaili
Studies. The foremost authority on the pre-modern history of Persian Ismailism,
he serves as editor of the Ismaili Heritage Series, the Ismaili Texts and Translations Series, and Consulting Editor of the Encyclopaedia Iranica. His publications include The Ismailis: Their History and Doctrines (Cambridge University Press, 1990), The Assassin Legends: Myths of the Ismailis (Cambridge University Press,1994), A Short History of the Ismailis (Edinburgh University Press, 1998), and Culture and Memory in Medieval Islam (I.B. Tauris, 2003). He is currently researching a biography of the 12th century Persian Ismaili leader Hasan-i Sabbah.

Institute of Ismaili Studies, London The exhibition will be open from 10 am to 10 pm in the
Joseph and Rosalie Segal Centre. At 1:30 pm, there will
be a free public lecture about the exhibition by Alnoor
Merchant, Senior Librarian and Keeper, Ismaili Collections,
Institute of Ismaili Studies Library.
