Tech Access for Children and Youth (campaign)
An initiative to provide low-income and refugee children with digital access for learning and connection
The Tech Drive is now closed for this year.
Our tech drive was an enormous success thanks to the generousity of our community partners and the SFU community. In total, we collected and donated 35 laptops and 20 desktop computers to children and youth in Surrey. The recipients were identified as the most in need by our partners: DIVERSEcity Youth Programs, SD 36 Welcome Centre, and SD 36 Community Schools Partnership.
We would especially like to thank the following companies and organizations:
BC Tech for Learning - 15 laptops and 20 desktop monitors, keyboards and mice
Nurses Next Door - 20 desktop hard drives
BC Liquor Board - 5 laptops
Electronic Recycling Association - 5 laptops
ACCESS Consulting - connecting us to donors and providing the tech support to clean and prepare the computers for donation
We would also like to thank the SFU Surrey Security team for helping receive the donated devices!
