Do you know your faculty teaching fellow?

SFU currently has 11 faculty teaching fellows, including Shauna Jones (Beedie School of Business), Paola Ardiles (Health Sciences) and Nicky Didicher (Arts and Social Sciences).
SFU’s faculty teaching fellows (FTFs) are continuing faculty members within each Faculty who “support the continued improvement of teaching and learning within the Faculty.” They serve terms of one to three years and are selected through an open process determined by each Faculty dean. Appointment recommendations are approved and funded (up to a limit of two per Faculty) by the vice-president, academic. Faculties are free to fund additional positions.
FTFs “help address the challenges that instructors face and to communicate solutions across the Faculty, as well as […] provide a channel of communication between the Faculty and higher administrative units that focus on teaching.” The nature of the work varies according to the needs of each Faculty.
New and renewed appointments typically begin in September. The following individuals currently serve as FTFs:
