Simon Fraser University has won in the "purist chemistree" category in this year's #Chemistree Competition! This year the competition theme was "The Periodic Table" and all entries in the "purist chemistree" category had to be built solely using lab-based materials. The Department of Chemistry's chemistree features thirty-one colourful round-bottom flasks and is topped with a pipette star. The chemistree was assembled by Abbegaile Sonon, Audrey Schumacher, Carol Wu, and Lucas Clarke.

The annual #Chemistree competition is organized and judged by John O'Donoghue, a Royal Society of Chemistry education coordinator at Trinity College Dublin. More information about the competition, as well as photos of the other winning chemistrees can be found on O'Donoghue's blog "O Chemistree": https://ochemistree.wordpress.com/2018/12/20/chemistree-winners-2018/
