Why Change SFU.ca?
On July 15, 2013, SFU.ca launched a top-level makeover with improvements to make the site more mobile- and user-friendly.
Built using CQ5—SFU’s only fully supported content management system—the refreshed site features responsive design, meaning it is as easy to use on a large desktop as on a tiny mobile device.
The new, cleaner design includes improved search, enhanced visuals and more intuitive navigation, as well as information portals aimed at specific audience groups such as students, alumni, employers and media.
SFU's main site is CLF (Common Look and Feel) Advisory Committee, comprised of representatives from all three campuses. The CLF committee reports to the CMS (Content Management System) Steering Committee.
The common look and feel:
- promotes a unified, cohesive online presence by aligning design, colour palette, font choices and navigational conventions;
- improves usability by providing consistent and intuitive navigation methods such as audience portals;
- provides attractive template options so units can create their own web pages more efficiently;
- and is supported by an SFU Editorial Style Guide.
