In Fall 2018, one of SFU’s award-winning flagship international collaborative graduate programs – the Simon Fraser University and Communication University of China Global Communication MA Double Degree Program (SFU-CUC GCMA) – will celebrate its 5th anniversary.

On June 26, 2018, SFU's School of Communication and the GCMA Program (GCMA) are honoured to receive a faculty delegation from our partner institution the Communication University of China (CUC) for a special one-day forum on "Transnational and Transcultural Pedagogy in Communication: Radically Global, Radically Local”. The forum successfully reflected upon the Program’s path-breaking endeavours and pedagogical achievements, reached out to its educational

peers both inside and outside SFU and Canada, and showcased its ongoing commitment to pursue cutting-edge research and pedagogy at SFU.

On June 27, the faculty of both SFU and CUC had an opportunity to discuss common research agendas and envision future collaborations over a delightful lunch! Our CUC guests visited the beautiful Burnaby Mountain Park and enjoyed the spectacular views of the totem poles, the Burrard Inlet, and the very famous Rose Garden.

Our esteemed guests include Prof. Li Jidong, Prof. Ji Deqiang, Prof. Huang Dianlin, Prof. Zhang Zhihua, Prof. Zhao Ruhan, and our amazing CUC program coordinator Prof. Kang Qiujie.

Special thanks to Prof. Stuart Poyntz, Prof. Peter Chow-White, Prof. Kirsten McAllister, and Prof. Frederik Lesage for attending the forum.
