From long before his run for the presidency, Donald Trump has butted heads with the press. He has made this enmity a hallmark of his political platform and now that he's in the White House, the campaign against any media coverage that is short of glowing is in full swing. Terms like "alternative facts" and "fake news" are part of popular vernacular.

To help us take stock of the media in the United States at this historic juncture and its impact on global reporting, Global Communication at SFU is delighted to host a talk by UBC Global Reporting Centre Founder and Emmy-award-winning Director Peter Klein on the impact of a Trump presidency on global journalism and reporting! The event is co-sponsored with our friends at SFU School for International Studies, the Institute for the Humanities at Simon Fraser University and SFU's Vancity Office of Community Engagement.
