Communication Co-op Program

What is Co-op?

Co-op in the field of communication is an opportunity to build your skills, gain industry experience, and get paid while you complete your degree. Co-op allows you to explore your interests while simultaneously learning new skills. Employers will hire and pay you to work in meaningful positions. You will complete three work terms alternating with your study terms. Compete for real jobs and work full-time for four or eight months at a time. From tech startups to non-profit organizations to government, employers come to SFU co-op specifically to hire communication students.

Why Co-op?

Communication co-op alumni say their participation in co-op gave them a competitive advantage when looking for work. Many were employed within three months of graduating after completing their co-op terms. If you do co-op, you will graduate with an entire year of work experience! Plus, you'll earn competitive wages, build your resume, and connect with industry employers.

What sort of work will you be doing? (Just to name a few!)

  1. Social media
  2. Brand marketing
  3. Content writing
  4. Videography
  5. Marketing communications
  6. Digital marketing
  7. Graphic design
  8. Public relations
  9. Event planning
  10. Photography
