SFU communicators bring home two (more) Gold Quill awards

April 26, 2018

The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) announced this year's Gold Quill Awards winners on April 13th and, for SFU communicators, there's reason to celebrate! Two departments have been recognized with the coveted trophy this year:

Monica Bisal, Director, University Communications

Monica received her Gold Quill award for her part in overseeing the development of a dedicated channel—the SFU Innovates website and associated content and distribution strategy. The website shares SFU’s unified and distinct innovation and entrepreneurship narrative though storytelling and strategic proof points across faculties that align to the SFU Innovates key priorities.

SFU's Sustainability Office

The Sustainability Office was honoured for their communication strategy entitled Envisioning our Sustainable Future. Their work plan outlined methods they used to engage their internal audiences to envision the university's long-term sustainability vision and goals. The plan also outlined a launch strategy to recognize the community’s contributions and illustrate their shared responsibility in achieving them, all while advancing SFU’s engaged brand. The plan further advanced SFU's reputation for leadership in sustainability innovation.

What are the Gold Quill Awards?

The Gold Quill Awards recognize and award excellence in strategic communication worldwide. Bisal and the Sustainability team's awards mark the third and fourth Gold Quills to be earned by SFU communciators over the past three years.

Congratuations to the winners!
