joint major graduate making major moves

Vasundhara Gautam chose Simon Fraser University’s joint major in computing science and linguistics so that she could study languages together with science ‘in a meaningful way.’ Set to graduate in June, she is now reaping in the awards for her decision and hard work. Throughout her SFU journey, she seized any opportunity to combine the technology skills she developed in computing science with her passion for learning languages. From working on the Gender Gap Tracker, to mentoring young women taking coding workshops, to being a part of the Women in Computing Science group on campus and starting her own coding club, to creating her own co-op with GE Digital, Gautam has shown tenacity throughout her degree. Now she is receiving offers from top schools in computational linguistics to do her masters.
