SFU computing science professor Jian Pei named Canadian Academy of Engineering Fellow

SFU computing science professor Jian Pei has been elected into the Canadian Academy of Engineering. On June 15, he and 51 new Fellows were recognized for their career-long service and distinguished achievements to the engineering profession. 

This prestigious honour recognizes Pei’s accomplishments in the theory and practice of data science, data mining and data engineering. Pei joins five other Faculty of Applied Sciences researchers as a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, including computing science professor Jiangchuan Liu. This recognition comes shortly after Pei was elected into the Royal Society of Canada in September 2019.
