Simon Fraser University’s School of Computing Science graduates are among the most likely to land desirable software development jobs, according to LinkedIn. SFU ranked No. 3 among Canadian universities for their undergraduate students obtaining the best jobs in software development.

LinkedIn, a social networking site for professionals, announced its inaugural ranking of career outcomes of university graduates in Canada. It considered undergraduate students who obtained their degrees within the past eight years and careers across different professional areas.

Software development was one of the professional areas. LinkedIn scanned the most desirable jobs in the profession where many software developers are choosing to work, and where they choose to stay and linked this to back to where people obtained their undergraduate degree. LinkedIn tracks 300 million members around the world.

In another recent worldwide ranking, SFU’s School of Computing Science was among the top 50 computing schools in the world. The Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) conducted its annual rankings in August 2014, and SFU ranked 49th in the world in the field of computing science.
