Fostering a community where writers can grow

Learning to sustain your writing within the realities of your daily life is crucial to becoming a successful writer—which is why classroom education is only one small component of The Writer’s Studio, our one-year creative writing program.

We also foster The Writer’s Studio Community—a Vancouver-based group of writers that includes current students and alumni of The Writer’s Studio, participants of our Thursdays Writing Collective or Jamboree, and everyone who reads at our attends our public Writer’s Studio Reading Series.

Our writers are diverse in their writing experience and sensibilities, age, lived experience, and educational, cultural, and racial backgrounds. What they have in common is their passion for writing. They’re eager to learn and grow as much as they can with us.
