BCPW703
InDesign
This course is about InDesign for beginners. Through an intense but well-paced curriculum, we'll encourage exploration and offer you general knowledge and self-confidence in the use of InDesign.
With a brief introduction to the basic tools, you will acquire elemental knowledge of desktop publishing and design principles. Through this, you'll learn how word processor files are transformed into well-designed virtual or printed pieces, and become familiar with terms like resolution, pixels, PPI, JPEG, PDF, orientation, vector illustration, B&W, TIFF, and CMYK.
You should be interested in learning new things and getting started with desktop publishing software, and willing to make mistakes and share them during your learning process. We recommend a basic knowledge of word processing programs like Word and Open Office. You should also be comfortable on a Mac. No prior experience with InDesign is necessary.
