Introduction to Screenwriting

We all have them—those moments of film etched so deeply into our brains that they become part of us. How do filmmakers create them? It all starts with screenplays that revel in using moving images to propel story and reveal character.

In this class, we will investigate short films, examine traditional story-structure and learn to tell unforgettable stories using images (as well as dialogue). The end result will be a short film script that is on its way to being ready to shoot. We encourage you to bring existing story ideas, lots of energy, and the full power of your imagination to class.
