On-Screen Editing: Getting the Most out of Microsoft Word

Paper markup is quickly becoming a thing of the past. Most clients today expect editors to mark up their changes onscreen. They also expect editors to possess more than basic word-processing skills. If you have been asked to edit onscreen but are unsure of the pitfalls and possibilities, this is the course for you.

Once you explore Word’s many features and learn some basic tricks, you will begin to see how powerful Word can be as an editor’s toolkit. You can save a lot of time, increase your efficiency, and even learn to catch more errors than you do with paper editing.

Presentations will be on both PC and Mac. Please bring your laptop to class, with Word 2007 or 2010 if you have a PC, and Word 2008 or 2011 if you have a Mac.
