Process Metrics, Management, and Controls

How can you improve your organization every day?

The first step is to use a metrics or measurement system that allows you to know the status of any process in real time. Secondly, you need to ensure everyone is able to see problems, issues and challenges and to deal with these via the scientific method, so that daily use of the scientific method becomes part of your organization’s culture. Lastly, the roles, behaviours and capabilities of management must support your measurement system, problem-solving practices and process controls.

In this course you’ll learn about building the framework, the culture, for continuous improvement. Goals include: creating a visual management system, tracking errors and delays and systematically improving results, using the scientific method of problem-solving, addressing the gap between current performance versus expected or target performance, knowing the status of any process in real time and establishing standard work through job breakdown, job method and job instruction.
