Geography Through the Ages: From Erastothenes to Waldo Tobler
Geography, especially human geography, has gone through a number of significant changes over the last 60 or so years. But there were also changes also in earlier times.
This course starts with the ancient thinker Erastothenes and goes past Columbus to modern times. We will discuss how geography influences mathematics, economics, computing science, and more. You would never have thought that geography could be so much fun! If you want to know who Waldo Tobler is, you’ll have to come to class.
Please note that enrolment in this course is limited to adults 55+.
