When most of us think about art, we think of classical forms like dance, painting, sculpture, and theatre. But where do other art forms like graffiti, wall posts, video, and digital design fit in? Do they deserve to be called art too?

Paul Matthew St. Pierre is a painter and installation artist as well as a professor of English at Simon Fraser University, where he specializes in postcolonial literatures and film studies.
