Jennifer Day

Jennifer Day holds a BA in Applied Linguistics from the University of Victoria and an MA in Liberal Studies from Simon Fraser University. She has taught English to migrant workers and landed immigrants at various not-for-profit organizations; she has coordinated and managed literacy programs, youth empowerment events and programs, and since 2012 she has been teaching in the International Teaching Assistants program at SFU Continuing Studies, where she helps MA and PhD students become more confident speakers and more comfortable living and working in the Canadian environment. Jennifer’s goal in the Contextual Cultural Studies course and the Communication Skills course is to help students become aware of their communication style and to become effective communicators both in their personal lives and in their professional lives, specifically in the North American context.
