Ric Beairsto

Ric Beairsto is an award-winning writer/director/producer who was a founding partner in 1980 with The Hy Perspectives Media Group, Inc., where he produced a string of successful television documentaries. He continues to work actively in the field of documentary and factual television, concentrating on one-offs and series.

He has acted as a script consultant/story editor on more than 30 feature-length screenplays. As a part-time Instructor in screenwriting at the Vancouver Film School, The Interior Film & Television Centre, Trinity Western University, Langara College, and others, he has actively edited more than 1,500 short screenplays.

He has also written the narration for many documentaries, and is the author of The Tyranny of Story: Audience Expectations and the Short Screenplay (1998; 2nd revised edn. 2009).
