Donald Grayston

A retired priest of the Anglican Diocese of New Westminster, Donald Grayston taught from 1989 tol 2004 in the Department of Humanities at SFU, serving for the last three years as the director of its Institute for the Humanities.

Until 2011, he was director or co-director of the Pacific Jubilee Program in Spiritual Formation and Spiritual Direction, which he co-founded with Jack Gorsuch in 1988.

A past president of both the Thomas Merton Society of Canada and the International Thomas Merton Society, he is also a past chair of Building Bridges Vancouver, a public education program that showcases those who, in various ways, are engaging in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. His publications have been concerned with Merton, pilgrimage, marriage, and the Holocaust.
